The elegant Saenger Theater houses 1,000 seats, a stage with fly loft, a balcony, dressing rooms, and an orchestra pit. Designed by the famous New Orleans architect Emil Weil and renovated in 2000, the theater accommodates both live performances and film. Since its opening on Thanksgiving Day, 1929, this movie palace has become a local cultural landmark. The Saenger Theater Box office is open from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and from two hours prior to all ticketed performances.
